FAQs
What is in it for you?
Imagine waking up with full, long, curly, dark eyelashes every single day without the hassle of putting on and removing mascara. Imagine cutting down your morning beauty routine while having a fabulous, selfie-ready lash appearance. If these ideas excite you, eyelash extensions is definitely one of your best options. But there are things that you need to know before booking for an appointment. So keep reading on.
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent faux lashes which are hand-glued to your natural lashes to make them look longer, fuller and darker. Lash extensions are applied strand by strand to your natural lashes using a specially formulated non-irritating glue. Because each individual extension is applied to each of your natural lash, it is very customisable in term of extension lengths, curl patterns and tints. Also, your lash fringe will look very natural and real after treatment. At your appointment, our stylists will consult with you and offer the best option for your lash look.
Which eyelash extensions are best to get?
There are many diffrent lash extension styles available. But the three most common styles are classic, volume and hybrid eyelash extensions.
Classic Eyelash Extensions
As per its name, this is the classic technique of doing eyelash extensions. One individual lash is applied to one natural lash to enhance the length and thickness of your lashes. Extensions used in this technique are thicker and heavier than ones used in Russian volume technique.
Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions
Russian volume lash extension technique uses multiple lash to create a lash fan. Our stylists then apply the lash fan to one natural lash to create a multi-lash voluminous effect. Unlike classic extensions, volume extensions are soft, thin and ultra-lightweight. Hence, the look of volume lashes is often fluffier and more fluttering to the eyes.
Depend on the number on lash extensions in one fan, volume extensions are categorised to different level of volume. You may have heard the term 2D, 3D, 5D or mega volume. 2D simply means 2 extensions are applied to one natural lashes. 3D means 3 extensions are applied to one natural lash extensions. While mega volume means 10 or more extensions are applied to one natural lash. So the density level is very customisable.
Hybrid Eyelash Extensions
Hybrid lash extensions are blend of the two types above. Our stylists will apply a mix of classic and volume lash extensions to your natural lashes.
So which lash extensions are the best to get?
Normally, our clients will have a personal preference on which type of eyelash extensions are best. However, if you haven’t decided which one to go for and want a recommendation. We highly recommend you try 3D volume lash extensions. You may think it might be too much for your eyes and may not look natural. Actually, based on our many years of experience 3D volume has a very natural look thanks to the slight flare of the fan. Moreover, 3D volume extensions are more comfortable and a healthier option for your natural lashes thanks to its ultra-lightweight extensions. The look is also more stunning because extensions are fluffy and thin. The price tag may be a bit higher but it actually last longer so you will get the best value for your money.
How eyelash extensions are applied / put on?
After the initial assessment of your natural eyelashes and consult your desired style, our experienced stylists will recommend suitable extensions length and curl.
Our skilled stylists will then carefully apply the extensions on one natural lash strand at a time. A special semi-permanent glue is used for attaching the extensions. At Lashury we only use glue which is safe for your natural lashes.
How long do lash extensions last?
If you actually take care of them and follow the aftercare instructions properly, lash extensions can last from three to six weeks before they really require maintenance. Lash extensions will gradually fall out as your natural lash grow longer. It is recommended to have a short refill session every 2-3 weeks to fill in the gap of falling out extensions. This will help extend the fabulous lash-look for another 2-3 weeks. Refill session is shorter and cheaper so it is more economic than doing a whole new set. Without any maintenance, they will last about four to six weeks before they completely fall out.
Are eyelash extensions bad for you? Do they ruin your eyelashes?
Yes, eyelash extensions can probably damage your natural lashes. Improper application of lash extensions or selecting inappropriate type of extension may damage your natural eyelashes. For example, applying excess glue, or applying extensions which are too heavy/too long for the natural lash will result in constant pressure on natural lash roots. This will end up with premature shedding and causing gaps in your eyelashes.
However, if done properly by skilled lash stylists, lash extensions won’t do any damage to your natural lashes. An experienced stylist will assess the health of your natural eyelash and suggest suitable extension length and curl that are safe for you. Also he/she are skillful to apply just enough glue needed.
As a result, you should be very careful in deciding where to book for your eyelash extensions. Make sure you have it done by professional, experienced lash stylists so that you will get the best looking eyelash extensions while protecting your natural lashes.

Are eyelash extensions safe? Does it hurt?
The treatment is pretty safe as you have your eyes closed for the whole time. Typically, the entire process is painless for almost everyone, from start to finish.
You may experience minor irritation around the eyes due to chemicals in glue or friction and tugging forces around your lashes. But this should be very minor and should go away in a short time. Hence, if you ever feel any major pain, you should tell your stylist immediately
Lashury only uses glue that is gentle to the eyes. And our stylists are trained to carefully apply extensions so that all clients can have a comfortable experience.
Can eyelash extensions get wet?
You should avoid getting your new set of lashes wet within the first 24 hours. This will allow the glue to completely dry and harden the bond between extensions and natural lashes. The result will be a long lasting set of lash extensions. After 24 hours, you no longer have to worry about getting them wet.
When your lashes are wet, don’t dry them off or rub them with a towel because these may shorten the lifespan of your set. Instead, you should dab above and below your lashes with tissue.
You should also avoid putting sunscreen on your eyelids. Because the oil from sunscreen can break down the glue bond and cause your extensions to fall out. Wearing sunglasses will help do the trick.
